Am I feeding him too much?

My DS is 2 and he absolutely loves his food. He is just like his father, he has a big appetite. The problem is that at tea time (we have it around 7:30-8.00pm), he will not have it. It is so annoying because I make it from scratch and put all my effort into it and he just not interested! This is a typical meal diary for him:

Morning:
Wheat bisks with milk and a banana
OR
1 slice of toast with marmalade

Mid morning;
Cheese cubes and strawberries

Lunch:
Sandwich (either roast chicken slices or turkey sliced), cheese puff crisps, and sliced pears
Cup of milk before he has a nap

Snack (after napping usually)
Chocolate Brioche Slice Bread or a piece of fruit, sometimes a yogurt rice cake

Dinner:
Anything homemade, like creamy chicken and leek bake (made my own roux and cheddar cheese), sliced potato chips and veggies (which he doesn't even touch!)

Am I giving him too much? Should I cut out the snack part?

In my experience he might not be hungry that late at night, my DS never ate dinner that late as they were more tired than anything, I give dinner at 5pm and in bed for 7-8, 7am breakfast, 9am snack, 12pm lunch, 2.30pm light snack and dinner at 5pm, cup milk at 6pm, what time does he wake at and have his nap ?

That is a very late meal time for a child his age! Ideally his bed time should be around then with his last meal around 5-5:30

I really think it’s more to do with when your feeding him rather than what!

What time does he go to bed? They often don’t want food within a few hours of bedtime. Also they often want a lighter meal in the evening, and a bigger dinner for lunchtime. Could you maybe swap it over and give him the previous nights teatime meal for lunch, and then just a sandwich (etc) 3ish before bed?

A child of this age doesn’t have to go to bed at any specific time, in the UK we seem obsessed with early bed times. My Paediatrician always jokes about it, and openly admits his children don’t go to bed until 10pm, but that they sleep until 9-10am so it’s all relative :)
