Help Pneominia in 2 year old

Hi
My ds 2 was diagnosed 4 weeks ago with viral pneominia, caused by RSV virus.
It’s been a long slow recovery but more recently we’ve began to see some of his old sparkle back again.
However, he’s had this relentless cough that was clearing up but has become far worse over the last couple of days. All day and night. He must be exhausted.
Obviously I’ll take him to gp tomorrow again. The coughing at night is so bad he ends up choking and vomiting. No fever.

I’m just asking in case this is normal recovery. In discharge from hospital we were told to return if fever continues or cough gets worse. We do each time, and although the staff are superb, they simply say this is to be expected.

We are also now at the point where ds2 gets stressed going to hospital as he’s had needles etc put in. He obviously found it really stressful.

So if there’s anyone out there who’s lo has suffered this, I’d love to hear from you.
Ps ds2 is also really anaemic.

My dd had pneumonia at 2. She was in hospital for 5 days and discharged with inhalers. Within 5 weeks she was back in hospital with a chest infection. The doctors told me it was just one of those things but I wasn’t so sure. So we got her seen by a paediatrician who recommended she should go on to a steroid inhaler. The lowest dose one twice a day. Now ten years later she is still on it and her chest is ok. She takes hay fever medicine because pollen makes her cough so we also increase her inhalers if we need to.
She always uses a spacer and seems really ok.
It was so hard when she was little inthe hospital and her oxygen levels going so low was terrifying.
I really hope things get better soon.

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond. I’m sorry your lo suffered too. It seems never ending for us too despite being only 4 weeks in.
Yet again 111 sent an ambulance to us. Temp of 41, cough has escalated again, breathing really fast and regularly sick from coughing so much.
Yesterday we were sent to a & e as he was the same. Calpol isn’t bringing temp down. A & e just said his ears were pink and prescribed antibiotics.
Every time we visit gp, they send us to PAU as they are concerned about him, yet they just say after hours there, that his chest is clear.
It’s so distressing to see him so poorly. Take it from me, we are not usually anxious parents. We have 5 kids and usually have a pretty relaxed approach to illness.

We are genuinely worried sick for him and really don’t know what to do.

Trust your instincts. If you have five children they will be good. If he is getting worse not better keep seeking treatment and keep a very close eye on him. Flowers

I dont know pneominia with this Virus ... but I am writing this remedy for so many children with pneominia through your thread.

I know I will sound very silly... with this home remedy ..
you can try it if you wish to give a try with all other treatments going on with it .. there is nothing to loose..

get some rock salt(big crystal) and some clarified butter(Ghee)... find any rough surface (rough tile/marble) .. put 1/4 teaspoon Ghee.. and rub rock salt crystal back and forth in it vigorously ... you will get a creamy white texture..........
All this what I explained will take just 5 minutes in total..

this paste will have grainy texture ... rub this paste morning and evening on child chest and back (where lungs are.. on most effected lung area) ... rub it at least 10 minutes Or until it fully disappears..

Do this massage next to warm radiator if possible ... immediately put some warm layer and put warm water bottle on chest and back alternate.

Doing this for 15 days or so the patient will have fast recovery and never need inhalers(if no steroid given yet I dont know the results if it works or not when steroid is given)
But fast recovery I can say still.

Never breast feed the child after taking bath mainly headbath... feed him/her before going for bath or after 1 hour or so.

I have given this(Ghee and Salt) advice to 3 people who followed it all 3 children never needed inhaler ...one is 1 yo when he had got pneominia now 13 yo I know him personally perfectly healthy.
