15 month old will not stop crying

As the title says really, my 15month old ds will not stop crying. He literally can't be consoled. He's teething with his canines, one has just popped through a couple of days ago and another is ready to pop through soon, his gum is really hard where it's just underneath the surface. He has had a cold, got over that for a couple of days and then got another one, had a tummy bug last week and has just got over both that and the 2nd cold. He's been off his food since Thursday last week when he got the tummy bug so he isn't eating much. He is only sleeping on me. And he literally will not stop crying. He woke from his nap (on me) and after one minute he started crying and hasn't stopped since. He was similar this morning although wasn't as irritable. Do you think this is just his teeth? Could it be something else as well? He's never been like this with teeth before. It's so upsetting to see him almost make himself sick with the crying. We have been alternating between calpol and ibuprofen plus giving anbesol and dentinox and nothing seems to be helping.

Aww he sounds miserable. Do you think it might be worth getting him checked out? It might be teething / getting over the cold and tummy bugs, but it could be an ear infection or something. Has he got a temp? If he's truly inconsolable I would see whether the dr will see him this afternoon... he will probably perk right up as soon as you walk through the door :)

Thank you for your reply. My mum took him out for a walk to give me a break and she said he did stop crying after a while and has now fallen asleep sat on her knee while they are out. I was wondering if it would be worth getting him checked by a doctor. I'll see how he is when they get back, a change if scene and a different person may have made a bit of a difference when he comes back home. If not, we will give the doctor a call. Thanks, needed some advice and a listening ear after the day we've had!

Hi, how’s he doing? Did the fresh air and change of scenery do the trick?

My ds did this last year and suddenly I realised he had gunk coming out his ear and it was a burst ear drum. As others have said does he have a temp? May be good to take him to the gp?
