My DD (3) keeps complaining of pain when she has a wee. I can see it's visibly hurting her at times. It's not all the time but comes on and off but been going on for 6 months or so.
I keep taking her back to the doctors who check her urine and say nothing's wrong.
I feel so helpless, I feel like I'm not being taken seriously.
I'm waiting for another call back from gp now. Anyone gone through anything similar?

No experience with this specific issue, I would request a referral to urology as it's not right that a 3yr old suffers from pain or discomfort when having a wee.

Covering the basics, does she drink a good amount of water and not too much juice?
Could she be holding it too long so it's uncomfortable when she does go?
Has the doctor sent off a sample or just checked it at the surgery?

I may have already gone over these things yourself but just trying to think of anything I can that could make wee sting without there being an infection.

I saw a child with similar symptoms on Embarrassing Bodies. She was advised to drink more water and avoid black currant squash altogether. Can you get a wee sample for the GP to get tested?

I was like this as a child. I had the feeling of needing to pee CONSTANTLY. Even when I didn’t need to pee. My urine samples were always fine. My mum gave me cranberry juice and loads of water and it went away

It's not just that she's sore around there fromnot wiping properly is it? My 3 year old has the same occasionally but I generally find it's when the area looks a bit red and some cream sorts it out. I think they leave them to their own devices poo wise at nursery so sometimes she's not wiping properly.
