Hi can anyone recommend a private clinic to help 7 year old with pooing problems at school? Have tried every bit of the local NHS!
Help!

I’m afraid I can’t recommend any private consultants but have you tried ERIC? They don’t give out medical advice as such, but have lots of information about poo problems and how schools can / should support children who are affected e.g. through agreeing an individual health care plan so your child is suppported with access to the toilet, drinking water etc.

Hi yes we have tried them. Didn't really suggest anything we haven't tried. School essentially want DD to leave. We are pretty desperate.

I’m sorry - that sounds difficult. If you don’t get a response on here there are other message boards like Movicol Mummies on Facebook or the ERIC community message boards on HealthUnlocked where there are lots more parents experiencing similar and who might be able to suggest someone local to you.

Just to update we finally got a new SEN paediatrician locally who ordered an X-Ray of DDs guts. Found severe constipation despite regularly pooing and starting to poo on toilet now 30% of the time with 3 X normal laxido dose.
Thanks for support

As well as Movicol Mummies, there is also Encopresis Support UK and the global group, Help!!! My Child has Encopresis - all on Facebook. Lots of people who can advise you on there

Hi All,
Just to update.
After clearing DDs guts with high Laxido we have now reached a plateau of around 30% of poos in toilet using 2 Laxidos a day plus 2 Activia yogurts. The Activia gives more regularity and control over pooing than the laxido. So basically all the majority of accidents are at home. Also have changed school as the old school had basically had enough. Too early to say whether the new more relaxed school will have any impact.
We have an appointment with a specialist in constipation at a private Sheffield hospital coming up. Fingers crossed!
Bye!
