Terrible wind, tried EVERYTHING... but colief...

Hello, my two month old has always suffered with awful wind. We've tried gripe water, infacol and dentinox and we've done all the leg movements (he kicks out to strong for us to bend his legs so it's not always an option unless he's in the perfect mood which is rare). Tried the massage but no luck there. The gripe water does help slightly but it's a bit hit and miss, we are not sure whether he would have brought the burp up without it anyway as that sometimes happens when we don't use it. We've come to the last idea which is a product called Colief although it says it's for temporary lactose intolerance, I don't know if that could be the problem causing the terrible wind. I just wanted to know if any of you guys of tried it for wind and if it has worked for you? I'm unsure about buying as it is quite expensive and I don't want to give him anymore unnecessary chemicals. It's heartbreaking watching him in pain, we don't know what to do! 😩

Colief worked really well for us. My DS is the same as your LO in regards to stiff legs when I try to do the bicycle. Try gently bouncing them in your hands to loosen the stiffness. (Learnt that trick at baby massage!)

Give Calpol if really in pain. Try different bottles. We loved the MAM anti colic ones.

Double check it's not silent reflux with HV or GP.

Keep upright for 15 mins with constant patting on back and a little jiggle at the same time after each feed really helps my DS too.

Coleif worked for my DD

Thanks guys! Just spoke to children's specialist doctors ( we happen to be in hospital at the moment with him so we are lucky to be surrounded by doctors ). He told us not to bother with any of it as it apparently doesn't work, it's all just sugar water. Defiantly not what I wanted to hear, he just said we needed to bide are time and comfort him.

Are you breastfeeding or formula feeding? My youngest was like that (BF) and It disappeared when I cut dairy out of my diet. When weaning at 6 months I still introduced dairy in Dd's diet and mine and it was fine, she's not lactose I tolerant or CMPI.

Couldn't breastfeed unfortunately, so formula :(

In that case, if its just wind the good news is that it will get better on its own.
Have you tried a wrap? It's a good position for their legs and also the warmth from the adult on their belly can make them more comfortable as far as wind is concerned.

Why don't you try a different formula? Some babies don't do well on some formulas. We started on Aptamil then moved to SMA. Which was fine until he developed reflux. We also used Colief and i think it helped somewhat.

We found Colief helped and out GP agreed to prescribe it after we bought the first couple of bottles ourselves.

Have you considered it could be an allergy maybe to cows milk?
