Could this be chicken pox?

Hi everyone,

I'm a FTM with a 9.5 month DS.

Saturday: I noticed he had two spots. One on his back and one on his face, both really small, red but no blister or crusting on either.

Sunday: the spots seemed to have gone paler and no new ones appeared.

Today: two new spots appeared, one on each foot. The one on his back has since disappeared entirely, without crusting over. The one on his face is still there.

He's had a bit of a runny nose but no fever.

Does this seem like it could be early chicken pox? I thought after 2 days he would have far more spots appearing? Or could it just be a very mild case?

Pics attached. (Hopefully)

Chicken pox don't usually disappear in my experience although you can have very few spots. I had only one. Could they be bites?

Hand foot and mouth?

Thanks for the opinions, I'm glad to hear the general consensus it probably not chicken pox.

I suppose they could be bits, but they really are tiny, so I'm not sure what cause that.

I'm hoping it's not hand, foot and mouth. He doesn't have any ulcers in his mouth, so hopefully it's something else.

I'll just have to watch him over the next few days and see what (if anything) develops.

Would you say I should keep him inside for a few days? Or is that an over reaction? I'd hate to take him out if he's contagious...
