Ringworm?? Advice needed

Hey all

DD 16 showed me this the other day (when it didn't look so bad!!) - it looks like ringworm to me (I've seen it before both on horses and humans!) - however. It's on her thigh. We're keeping it covered with a plaster.

The Canestan is making it go like shown in the picture - the one where it looks really red and angry with weepy type blisters. Before she started with the cream it looked like it does in the other picture where it looks smaller and less red.

Is she allergic to the cream or is it not ringworm? There's no bite in the middle, just the ring of festering red pustulence!!

I would have put this in Sporner's Corner but I couldn't find it.

Any help appreciated - if anyone's used this cream and found it caused a reaction can you let me know if you were told to stop and if so what did you use instead - and does anyone think it's not ringworm?

thanks demented, Canestan is the other one shown for ringworm (Canestan themselves state it's for ringworm treatment too. Hmm, confused.com.

Daktacort is very good because it has anti fungal (miconozole?) as well as hydrocortisone. Does look like ringworm but there is something called discoid eczema that looks similar.

Hi op, I had ringworm recently and it kept flaring up like this the only thing that would clear it up was something from the doctor to take orally over three weeks (can’t remember what it was)

Thanks guys - it says to treat it at home for two weeks but when she puts the cream on it goes super red and starts oozing more so I'm not sure whether to get a Drs appointment (course, that could be two weeks away anyway) and whether to discontinue any cream since it seems to be reacting so badly.

I think on balance I might just discontinue this cream, get her to keep it covered and not touch it, whilst we wait for a GP appointment.
