Why would that be?

TIA. 😁

NHS 111 might be of more use

PhilomenaButterfly · 10/10/2018 16:18

I didn't think it was urgent, I'm just wondering what's causing it and what, if anything, to do about it.

I think the change in mental state / consciousness merits a call to 111 - sepsis can present as low temp

JeanMichelBisquiat · 10/10/2018 16:24

The change in mental state would worry me for the same reason. I'd seek medical advice.

YerAuntFanny · 10/10/2018 16:24

I have to agree with Member, given that his behaviour/mental state is affected it's worth getting checked out.

Just a cold and headache wouldn't bother me but that could be a sign of something else.

YerAuntFanny · 10/10/2018 16:25

Her not his obviously!

BiggerBoat1 · 10/10/2018 16:28

Sounds a bit like a migraine to me. My DD started getting them just before she started her periods. Hope your DD feels better soon.

Tinty · 10/10/2018 16:31

Sounds like hallucinations, I also think you should call 111.

PhilomenaButterfly · 10/10/2018 16:35

She's not hallucinating, she's just very giggly. No fever, she's got a cold, and last night and this morning she had a headache and was nauseous, that's gone now, she's had lunch and got herself a snack an hour ago.

PhilomenaButterfly · 10/10/2018 16:41

Actually, she's still got the headache and still feels a bit sick she says.

BiggerBoat how will I know if it's a migraine? I mentioned that to DD and she says it just feels like a normal headache.

OP posts:
BiggerBoat1 · 10/10/2018 16:44

Actually the giggly thing doesn't sound like a migraine. My DD gets her words jumbled when she's got a migraine and sometimes doesn't make much sense. She's usually very sick, gets a crippling headache and needs to sleep.

PhilomenaButterfly · 10/10/2018 16:47

I've tried googling and I'm none the wiser. Confused

HellonHeels · 10/10/2018 16:48

Has she had any cold medication? They make me feel really weird and speedy.

Quartz2208 · 10/10/2018 16:57

Ring 111

PhilomenaButterfly · 10/10/2018 17:01

I used NHS 111 online, apparently it's just a cold. Confused

OP posts:
PhilomenaButterfly · 10/10/2018 17:02

She hasn't had any cold medication.

OP posts:
PhilomenaButterfly · 10/10/2018 17:03

I don't see the point in ringing 111, as she's perfectly lucid, just very giggly.

My diabetic dh goes giggly when his blood sugar is low, can you give her a sugary drink just in case ?

PhilomenaButterfly · 11/10/2018 03:00

That's a good idea nota, thanks. I should have asked diabetic DS 28. Blush He's an expert in blood sugar. Since my post yesterday, she's had a high fibre chocolate brownie, a pizza, an Oreo doughnut and 3 Sainsbury's own brand Fruit Shoots. She'll probably go to school today, I'll give her a large glass of apple juice before she goes. That'll have to last until first break, when she might eat the fruit if it's something she likes, then lunch.

Flossie44 · 11/10/2018 13:07

Have you checked her blood glucose level?!

PhilomenaButterfly · 11/10/2018 14:02

I have no means of doing that at home. DS doesn't live at home.
