Basically just that. Any links for toys that may have worked for you,any ideas etc. We have known he was delayed for a long time. However after having a 2 year development check with the hv the other day and her urgently referring him to many healthcare professionals we now know it's much worse than we thought. I'm trying to turn his bedroom to a sensory/montessori style room so any ideas would be fab.

Thanks for those will have a look. I'm thinking a sensory wall with different squares of textured fabrics ,papers etc. Does it sound like it would work or would it be a bit naff? Just thinking he loves the "that's not my"books so making a large scale of that type of thing. Pretty new to all of this so any input is gratefully received.

Hello
Have you contacted an occupational therapist? If not, that's ok. But an OT will have a session with your child and figure out the right sensory tools for him. It is sometimes called a sensory diet. If you cannot access one right now, you may get a good idea by watching your child. Is he overactive or underactive? Does he love touch/pressure or avoid/is sensitive to touch? Looking into these and other sensory questions will help you choose the right sensory items for his room . Best of luck! I have two asd boys and both had different sensory needs.

I don't have a child with additional needs but have used this website before for toys for DD www.cheapdisabilityaids.co.uk
