Looking for advice, when my DD was 9 Months she fell of her changing unit (I was right next to her I know I'm a shit mum) and had a seizure, she bumped the back of her head very softly a few weeks lately and had another fit, she's 2 now, she decided to roll of the sofa today and banged the back of her head and had ANOTHER fit, she goes really limp and starts snorting and when she comes out of it she is really confused and dazed

Hospital have said it can be 'normal' as long as she doesn't throw up more than once she should be fine ! Surely it can't be normal that when ever my DD bumps the back of her head no matter how hard or soft she has an episode ? Thank god she didn't throw up today but still very very disturbing to see and have to go into nurse mode of my own child Sad

Gosh how scary.

I'm sorry I don't have any advice... just wanted to say you're not a shit mum. Accidents happen to the best of us Thanks

I would go back, but if it helps I had what looked like seizures all through childhood (still do) from things like cutting my finger or hitting my funny bone. They did brain scans and all sorts as it started when I was 3 but no diagnosis could be found - they said it's just fainting but it looks like a seizure. It's not dangerous and hasn't badly effected my life.

Again, definitely seek a second opinion to make sure, though.

Or that's what they told my mum 20 years ago anyway, reading that RAS description it is insanely accurate.

Reflex anoxic seizures was what sprung to mind here too, I would be asking the GP if they thought that was a possibility.

The best thing to do if it happens again is to film it in your phone, that way the doctors can make a clinical assessment.

The doctors are very skilled in determining what is seizure activity from footage.
