Hi,
Hoping someone can help or can relate to this situation...
I have a 15 month old son who can't walk, crawl or bear weight on his legs. I have had him seen with the pediatrician and they have said he very delayed with his motor skills and now I have to weight a group assessment which isn't for a few months yet. Has anyone else experienced similar? I'm going out of mind with worry!

My cousin had hyper mobility and never crawled. She didn’t walk until 2.5. You would never know now she was delayed st all.

My youngest was a very late walker. Turned out his vision was so poor he couldn't see his hand in front of his face and this didn't get picked up until he was 6. He just used to sit and shuffle a bit because he simply couldn't see anything.

From my degree I understand that dynamic movement starts with static balance. So just standing will help the bones learn to take the weight and the hip joint to begin to curve around to make the ball and socket joint. Once they have static balance they start to move into dynamic balance so turning, twisting and moving the limb.

How is his speech development? My grandmother used to say 'some walks before they talks, and some talks before they walks'. I think it was just a way of saying babies go at their own pace mostly.

Good luck.
