Is this hand, foot and mouth chickenpox, or something else?

Photos attached! DD is 12 months. The spots started with a couple in her nappy on Friday. She also had a fever and loss of appetite and wasn't very happy - but was also dribbling and rubbing her mouth and ears, so we put it down to teething. However, the spots are now in lots of other places, so I'm not so sure!

On Saturday, the couple of spots in the nappy became 30 to 50. Around lunch time yesterday, they started appearing elsewhere - a few on her legs, a few on her hands, a few on her feet, a single one her face. The spots in her nappy seem to be improving, but the ones that appeared yesterday are still there and a couple more have sprung up, including one on her chest. Her fever has gone and she's pretty much back to her happy self, but she does now have a runny nose.

What on earth is this? Does anyone recognise these spots? It's also worth mentioning that we've recently started her on cow's milk - could that be causing this? She's been on formula that's based on cow's milk until now and never had any problems with it.

I reckon hand foot and mouth. I remember my youngest had it - he stared off with spots in his nappy and was a bit grumpy and reluctant to eat. Then when he seemed better in himself he had spots on his feet and hands. Didn't last too long.

I think it sounds like Hand Foot and Mouth especially when how you have described it.
It’s viral and nothing you can do apart from ease symptoms.
However he’s only 12 months so if at all worried I would contact GP.

Thank you both. Appreciate your views - as an FTM, it's hard to know! It does sound like hand, foot and mouth fits.

I'm not too worried, now that I have an idea of what we're dealing with - as I said, she seems more herself today, so hopefully improving!
