Where can I get baby vaccinated?

I'm thinking about spend a couple of months of my maternity leave with my mum and dad, who live 350 miles away. Will drive there when baby is 6 weeks old, and stay for about 2 months before coming home (DH will be working away in another country for these two months, and I'd like the support/company). I was wondering, how do I go about getting baby's 8 and 12 week vaccines? Can I just go to my parents' GP surgery and register the little one temporarily (without de-registering him from my home GP)?

You can’t register him elsewhere without him being deregistered from your usual GP.

You’ll need your postnatal check for you and baby at about 6 weeks, then imms at 8, 12 and 16 weeks. It may be simpler to register at your parents GP surgery having had your postnatal at your own surgery, have the imms done there and then re register when back home.

The records will follow electronically, and if you ensure your Red Book is filled in each time it will make life easier.

Thanks. Yes I will have the 6 week check with my GP. The nurses at my GP surgery extremely busy and I know I will need to book the 16 week jabs as soon well in advance, hence not wanting to deregister. I'll check as they might let me make an advance appointment for a deregistered baby. I'll not need to deregister myself or my toddler, just the newborn.
