Tenotomy/ child in plaster cast - will she have to stay off school?

My dd needs to have surgery on her foot essentially meaning her leg will be in a cast for a number of weeks. Does anyone know if she’ll be allowed to attend school without being fully mobile? School is shut for the summer so I can’t ask!

When dd broke her ankle and had a cast and crutches she still went to school. She had someone to help her with her bag and was allowed to use the lift

MY DS10 had both legs in plaster for tendon lengthening and was allowed into school. That was for 6 weeks!

How old is she? She should be ok of she is able to use cructhes or a walking frame. When i had it done i was in primary and allowed to go about on my cructhes this was a long time ago but can't see them expecting you too keep her off the whole time in plaster.

Of course she will.

DS went in with crutches and a cast for several weeks after breaking his ankle. No one passed any comment about him not coming in - I assume his school would far rather their attendance figures didn't drop.

Really helpful. Thanks all. All I could find one line was that it varies from school to school. So this sounds encouraging.
