My little girl has developed tiny pin prick spots in her face body and arms. They don't go away when pressed. Anyone have any idea of what they could be?

No one can diagnose a rash over the internet that they haven't seen. If you are concerned, you need to call 111 or take your child to see a medical professional.

I hope she's ok.

oldbirdy · 06/08/2018 18:28

Can you add a photo?
Is she well in herself?

Non blanching rashes are usually an A and E job.

Cauliflowersqueeze · 06/08/2018 18:33

Go to A and E. Don’t waste time here getting opinions from joe public.

CaptainPugwashed · 06/08/2018 18:40

Call 111 straight away, obviously!

It's almost certainly just a viral rash. If she is behaving and looking fine then it's not meningitis as the rash is a later sign after being very ill.
If she's showing signs of being ill, then go quickly.

However you probably need to go to A&E and get a blood test where you'll sit there for a few hours to be told viral go away. Ds used to get them regularly, and we were sent there several times until the GP got used to him.

Can you post a picture? Prickly heat doesnt blanch but looks totally different to meningitis/sepsis rash

boingbat · 06/08/2018 21:36

Thanks for the replies, it doesn't look like prickly heat as it's not raised. I called 111 and they said that as she was well in herself she should be ok. They are on her arms, face and eyelids.

I'd be a bit concerned. It looks like its in the blood and not just skin surface. Go to hospital.

Rosarollo · 06/08/2018 21:40

Please go to hospital. Im a bit worried as re read it doesn't fade.

oldbirdy · 06/08/2018 22:46

Hmm.
Ds had itp, this is a condition where platelets are destroyed by the immune system. It's more common in toddlers than his age group. He was well in himself but platelets were critically low and he risked internal bleeding.
Attaching pics of his legs once he was out of danger and the rash was faded. Anything like this, go to hospital.
