Anyone else's dc have reflex anoxic seizures?

Just looking for some support and others experience with this really. My ds has had 4 of these now and he's 3 years old.

He hadn't had one for well over a year and I thought he was growing out of them as the A&E doctor told us they do grow out of it but then he had one yesterday because he cut his thumb and there was the tiniest bit of blood! He has also fainted once at the sight of blood.

I really don't have great nerves and these tend to frighten the life out of me. The first 2 times we called an ambulance, the 3rd time we went to A&E by car and the doctor told us although its frightening we really don't need to see a doctor each time unless he happens to have a fever which would be febrile convulsion but he's never had these, these are always only in response to pain shock or fright, so when it happened yesterday for the 4th time it was the first time I did not consult medical advice. He was 100% fine about an hour later. Just want to know I'm not alone with this basically, sorry for rambling so much.

My 10 year old had her first one at 18 months, she fell of the dining room table.
She got herself up then slumped to the floor and I really thought she was dead.
Ambulance was called and she was diagnosed with reflex anoxic seizures.
She had them quite a few time after that, anytime she had a shock or hurt herself.
She hasn't had one since she was 5, it's bloody scary though.

My oldest boy had them from a baby till about 2. The first time it happened he went blue we thought he had died. He only had a few, always after a fall or a bang. He is 3.5 now and hasn't had any for ages even after fall etc. Fingers crossed yours grows out of it too. They are very scary.

dafodils it's reassuring to hear that your dc hasn't had one in 5 years and that they really do grow out of it! I thought because he hadn't had one for a year that he was over it but clearly not.

sureitsgrand yes the last 3 have all been head bumps for my boy too, yesterday was the first time he's had one due to a cut with blood, though as I said before he has fainted at the sight of his own blood before but didn't have a seizure that time, just passed out.
