Hand foot and mouth

Well it’s happened. 2 year old son has hand foot and mouth and 6 month old has the same mucusy poo that showed up a few days before it developed so I feel like he’s probably coming down with it too.

I’m basically guaranteed to get it right? We just got over norovirus a couple of weeks ago and now this.

Not necessarily no

Heh, well I've already psychosomatically induced lots of symptoms (fatigue, loss of appetite, is that a hint of a sore throat I feel, tingling in areas that are surely bound to develop spots soon etc etc) through angsting about it so we'll see xD

I always think that when son brings something else delightful from Nursery! X

My DS had it and so have the children of about four friends who all never caught it and neither did I or DH. I do have two friends who both caught it from their children though, so it's just one of those bad luck things.

The adults I know who had it were much much more poorly than the kids though. One ended up in hospital. So take care.

When my DD had it recently no-one else in the household caught it, it's not inevitable! Hand hygiene etc can help reduce risk of spread, but they are highly infectious so I am conscious I may have been very lucky! Best of luck

DD has had it twice. Didn’t catch it the first time, did the second time. It was annoying but not disastrous. You may well be fine, but second the careful hand hygiene/not sharing towels etc above.

He asked me for a kiss today. I leaned in to kiss his cheek he moved to make sure I kissed his tongue. He wanted me to “kiss it better” not just give him an affection kiss. I’m doomed I tell you. Doomed.

You've probably already had it! Apparently it's very rare for adults to get it.

Saying that, someone on my team at work got it from his grandchild and it was awful, he couldn't use his hands. So 🤞
