Child having diarrhoea

I am hoping someone will be able to give some advice, my child age 4.5 has had diarrhoea now for 12 days. It started after she was put on an antibiotic for a uti. Which initially I thought it was because of the antibiotic so I stopped giving the antibiotic after a week. But 9 days after stopping the antibiotic the poor child still can't eat without it running out of her. She is drinking plenty. She was referred to a paediatrician last week for the uti as it an ongoing issue and he just said to give a probiotic but the diarrhoea is not getting any better. The poor pet keeps complaining of a sore tummy and it has been waking her at 5.30am and she is not going back to sleep. My gp is on holidays but I am going to take her to another doc tomorrow but has anyone any experience of this?

Had she had the probiotics?
Antibiotics can damage the internal flora of the digestive system, hence the recommendation for those.

Is your daughter hydrated enough? Maybe get some Dioralyte for children today.

Avoid sugary foods, lots of high fibre foods if you can. Also have a look at BRAT - bananas, rice, apple (I have apple sauce) and toast. Common recommendation for a dicky tummy.

But you're seeing the GP today, so they'll come up with proper advice.

Thank you for the reply. I hope there is a proper explanation for all this.
