Vomiting all evening

Ok. So got home from work about 8.30pm and my 13 month old was just finishing his second vomit of the evening. Now at 12.20am his been sick five times.

Husband says he hasn't eaten anything unusual (apart from green top milk) Thursday and Friday (so the two days previous to this) he did have loose stools but I assume that was down to teething and an increase in milk intake cus of the teething.

Obviously it has been extremely hot over the last couple of weeks. Husband said he was sweaty earlier so he striped him down to his vest.

His temp is 35.8 he's not been crying or upset was even laughing and playing before he got tired. I noticed a few times he was rubbing his belly which could indicate discomfort but can't be too bad or he would be crying. He seems to just want to sleep really but he's been sick twice in his bed so we've had to get him up to clean him and change the bedding.

What do we do now? He's not really been sick before... and never at night. Somethings say to give him fluids every hour and some say to let him sleep!? Do I keep waking him up to make him drink or let him sleep?

Just let him sleep. He'll wake if he's thirsty. You'll know If he is really ill. If he continues to have wet nappies and is responsive then just leave him to carry on as he wishes he'll probably be off food for a few days but he'll probably still want milk. Don't worry about him- you'll know when you need to worry.

Sounds like a bug to me especially with the loose stools. You don't need to wake him to give fluids just keep an eye on him. If he's having wet nappies and his lips are damp then he's OK, especially if he's laughing and playing that's a great sign and no fever.

Just went in when he woke up to give him water and change his nappy. He's stopped being sick now but he has bad diarrhoea. Must be a bug.

He's had a three hour nap this afternoon and seems much better! Smile
