My 1 year old hasn't eaten in 2 days. Her temperature was going up to 39.8 but i've been managing that now and its much more stable. She's on antibiotics for an ear infection and its been so hard to give her her medication. The most worrying thing is she wont eat nothing! Every time we try feeding her she gets upset and screams and when we make her milk 50% of the time she has 2 sips and pushes it away and the other 50% she just doesn't give you the chance to even put the bottle to her lips. She's drinking a lot of water though which i know is good but the lack of food she's getting is really worrying.

Well Don’t forget it’s also really hot, my kids are eating yoghurt and fruit every night for dinner, so as long as she’s getting water fluids etc, don’t panic!

Does she like fruit? I’d go the Icelolly/ice cream route or maybe some jelly?

When my ds was young like yours and ill and refusing to eat I would also get worried, but a gp once told me that you can go for well over a week without food without causing any damage and that children will not starve themselves, if they are hungry they will eat. Its only been 2 days so try not to worry. You can keep offering food mostly snacks I'd suggest like yogurt, ice lolly, bread sticks, baby style crisps, but if she doesn't eat them don't panic, nothing bad will happen and her appetite will return (albeit slowly) when she is starting to feel better towards the middle/end of the antibiotics course.

Don’t worry about food. As long as she is drinking she will start eating when ready
