Toddler drank pool water, being sick

3 year old DC went in the family hot tub yesterday, temperature low and regular cleaned, filtered, chlorine balanced.

At around 3am woke up and vomited all over the bed, went back to sleep. Eating and drinking normally all day.

Was sick again an hour or so ago and has now gone to sleep.

Thinking it may be possible dc swallowed some pool water, spoke to 111 who didn't seem concerned but wondered if maybe I should still take her to OOH.

Has anybody experienced similar, could it be a coincidence and she simply has a bug?

I would guess a bug rather than the water

Not sure if it's relevant but dc has had hiccups both times just before the vomit

If pool water makes you sick if it probably because it was contaminated with fecal bacterias so whatever bug the person had before entering the water is now in your son's system.
My pool in Australia has signs everywhere stating do not come to the pool two WEEKS after diarrhoea episode.

Chlorinated water is not 100% barrier. And chlorine levels vary during the day and sunlight dissipates chlorine .

My DD had technicolour vomit after a pool visit on holiday in March. It abated after a few hours and she was fine. Better out than in.

Could they have inhaled the water ? As this can be dangerous if water got into the lungs, I would definitely get checked out, are there any breathing problems? Fever? Coughing ?
