Worried: sleepy baby

Newborn ds, 2 weeks, sleeps almost all day/night. He does rouse for feeds (bf) every 3 hours approx but then will just go back to sleep. He manages about 10-15 mins eyes open alert wakefulness about twice a day. I am so anxious about him. Medical obs are fine as is nappy output so midwives weren’t concerned. I just feel something isn’t right. How does this sound to other people?

That sounds very promising , my son is 7 so it's a little hazy but he was sleepy for a good while after his birth . He didn't make eye contact at all really and was very floppy .
I think if you write down the exact times he is awake and asleep you will see an improvement as time goes on .

Thanks for the support and encouragement- especially @pigpoglet. I’m going to try to relax and enjoy him a bit more.

Hi, my ds2 was the same, for the first month he slept constantly and I was asking the midwives what was going on.

He would be awake for no longer than 30 mins in a 4 hour cycle. He gradually became less sleepy and met all milestones.

He a generally sleepy little person, he will lie in until 8/9am and if he's ever poorly he always reverts to his sleepy state.

He sounds fine OP, my son was like that. As long as he is waking for feeds and having regular dirty and wet nappies I wouldn’t worry too much. If he’s still like this aged 10/11 weeks then get him checked again.. but he most likely won’t be
