Sickness bug?

DS (3) seemed a bit tired from about 4pm onwards last night. Didn't want his books or milk and just went straight to bed at his usual bedtime.
Was sick in his bed about 9pm, we took him out cleaned him up and DP took him for a quick shower as it was all in his hair etc and put some fresh pjs on him, he was sick again before going back down at about 9.45 ish.
He slept through the night and came in for a cuddle in our bed at 6am which he usually does but stayed in bed having a cuddle and napping until 8am (usually has a cuddle for 5 then proceeds to turn the bedroom upside down).

We've kept him off nursery and he's sat on the sofa with a blanket watching TV and having water (refuses toast) and with a raised temp. Not been sick since last night. No diarrhoea or anything like that.

Does it sound like a sickness bug? DP says I should call the GP but I'm worried about wasting their time especially if it's something that just sorts itself out.

Apart from raised temp and being a bit sleepy/cuddly he has no other symptoms ATM.

It does sound like a typical sickness bug from what you've said. As long as he's managing to keep a little fluid down and is responsive and not too lethargic I don't think he needs to see a GP.
If his fever is very high it might not be a sickness bug. Could be the start of something like tonsilitis.
Just watch and wait I guess. It sounds like he's only been sick twice, which is really no cause for concern if he's otherwise pretty much ok. Not eating is fine for a few days.

Thanks @BlackInk

He's tired and cuddly (you can see from he's eyes he's not well IYKWIM).
But he's currently cuddling a bottle of water he keeps drinking and is happy to watch TV and occasionally instigates bits of conversation/tells me about the show etc

His temp is higher but not crazy and he's not been sick since last night. I've made sure to avoid giving him any dairy and only sticking to plain toast etc just in case to not upset his tummy.
I'll probably see how he gets on today.

I wouldn't call GP, it sounds self-limiting. Mere fever can make some kids puke, so could be all sorts of things.

Well DP seems adamant that my parents "over fed" him something when I was over there yesterday and his body is now "rejecting" it (you can tell they get along don't you).
But surely any sort of food poisoning etc would either come with diarrhoea and he would not be having a fever and no more sickness after the initial bout last night.

It's kind of irrelevant whether it's a virus or something he ate... if someone else goes down with it in the next couple of days then it was a virus. Over-eating wouldn't give you a temperature, but food poisoning might do ... unlikely unless your parents fed him oysters or raw sausages!
In my experience, some sickness bugs come with diarrhea and some don't. Sometimes the diarrhea follows well after the sickness...
Hope he feels better soon either way x

It does sound like a sickness bug, but maybe drop a urine sample in to the doctor if you’re still worried tomorrow. My son is 3 and had what seemed like a classic vomiting bug over Easter, but he was listless and hot even when he’d stopped being sick, so we went to the doctor and it turned out he had a UTI which needed antibiotics.

Hope he feels better soon Flowers

^^ I should say my son didn’t have diarrhoea either, just a few random voms along with being listless and hot.

All kids react differently to different stomach bugs, when my ds had one in March he had no fever, threw up 4 times and then diarrhoea didn't start until the next day at 5am and lasted all that day. So anything goes really with the order of things!
