Is this a RIDICULOUS amount of sugar for a nearly 3 year old?

DS is given about 2 adult handfuls of grapes, 3/4 of a punnet of raspberries, chocolate cake, 2-3 scoops of ice cream with sugar strands and a chocolate button every time he uses the potty. We're 3 weeks into potty training, so he's still put on the potty every 1-2 hours.

Titty agreed. I'm 3 days in and don't have to put ds on the potty. He's doing it himself when he needs to, no accidents so far.

Omg!! I thought I was bad giving dd one or two buttons or a malteaser if I had them. How utterly ridiculous. Please stop her if you can!!!! How can he physically eat that much?

snufflehuff · 27/05/2018 23:32

He's given adult portions. And this is once a week.

No wonder he is going a lot!

Does he even notice the chocolate buttons in amongst all the other sugary stuff? The fruit seems ok, although there's quite a lot of it. Maybe reduce by half. The cake & ice cream needs to be reduced by about 75%.

I have the same issue with my MIL. She feeds DD constant sugary crap at every possible opportunity. MIL is in dreadful health, significantly overweight & eats very badly. FIL had a full denture fitted in his 50s as he'd lost all his teeth. DH, who is prediabetic, thinks I'm overdoing it about the "healthy eating stuff". No, I'm really not. Healthy eating starts early.
