Day and night nurse when breastfeeding 2 year old

DD has just turned 2. Generally she's not too fussed ie fine if I'm not around, but if she's very tired / ill etc breastmilk seems to really comfort her, and at the moment she's full of cold, so as well as the comfort I'm keen to get fluids into her.

My issue... I'm also full of cold! I've read up about day nurse and night nurse online with regards to breastfeeding, but it all seems a bit vague /unclear /untested/speak to your pharmacist, and very much seems to focus on newborn babies and possible effects on them. Of course, a newborn would also be feeding 'round the clock' (generally), whereas I could easily take a night nurse for example , then not feed my daughter until after lunch/nap time (she'd be fine if my husband went to her at night to comfort her if needed).

Night nurse (which would presumably be the riskier one, due to its 'sleepy' effects?), it says : '. . Promethazine passes into breast milk and there is a risk that it may cause sedation, irritability or excitement in a newborn baby. Ask your doctor, pharmacist or midwife for further advice if you're breastfeeding'.

This seems to be the main cause for concern. Obviously I wouldn't take anything that could affect my DD negatively, but she's obviously now much more 'robust' than a newborn?

I will try and go to the pharmacist when i have time, just wondered if someone has already had this discussion with a pharmacist/dr, or maybe is one.?! Or thoughts generally.? X.

I'd avoid, TBH. Paracetamol and decongestant nose spray will manage the symptoms just fine. Lots of fluids and sleep when DD sleeps.

I agree with pp. Paracetamol and Saline nose spray are sufficient really.

Anyfucker - Was the baby a newborn?

90s - o I hadn't thought Of nasal sprays, although a quick google says some aren't advised, it says the majority are.

It's so tempting at times like this to just stop, but as she's ill too I wouldn't
