Dc2 used to have this (food allergy related), now I've just seen how bad dc3 is looking ... any suggestions? She's almost 3 and hates getting it wet or touched ...

Sudocreme. And make sure it’s really dry after a bath. My daughter has a similar issue but has mostly grown out of it now.

DS has had the exact same on and off for months, currently just healed up the latest bout. Waiting for a derm referral (need to chase that up!). Its definitely not excema. He has red patches on other parts of his body but not in a crease so my sure if they’re the same thing or not - no opportunity for those ones to split. Been prescribed various creams, best one Daktakort - use until healed then for 2 further weeks, but then it just comes straight back,

I had that as dc.
was a staph infection.
keep it clean and dry. wash with disinfectant twice a day.

Staph! Interesting. I’ve had that before. Hmmmmm.

In our case the red patches and this have come on since an almighty nappy rash (which I blame FIL for) which led to us having to cover DS in that pink pre-surgery disinfectant stuff every night. So the disinfectant advice makes sense.

Ds2 has he exact same thing but it seemed directly related to various food allergies. Thought DD had managed to avoid/outgrow these, but now I'm wondering. Will try the sudocrem as I have some in the house, and see how that goes... thanks for all the suggestions!

Is that yellow crust in her hair from the wound?! If so she needs antibiotics not sudocrem!

I think you need some anti fungal cream from the GP, I would not put sudocrem on it as it looks infected if it’s oozing yellow.
