Just canvassing for some opinions on what you would do if it was your dc.

Friday night before last DS (7) was sick, he was with exp at the time who told me when he brought him home Saturday but said he'd been fine all day sat and he'd put it down to the fact he'd fed him right before he took him swimming (he'd had a sandwich and a few other bits, this is relevant).

He was fine in himself all day Sunday but didn't eat much (he's been funny around food for the last few months) and then shortly before bed said he really fancied some toast so I got him some. In the night he was sick - again just once and with no other symptoms.

Kept him off school for 48 hours but he was fine and bouncing around and full of energy all day Monday and Tuesday. Again Tuesday night he wanted toast for dinner and again in the night was sick (once, no other symptoms).

As a one off I'd put it down to a weird bug but this happened 6 months or so ago too. I consulted Dr Google as my doctors don't have an appt free for ages and found parents saying that their dc's coeliac disease started this way. DS has always been bloated after pasta/bread etc but I put that down to most people are but now I wonder if that's what it is and the reason he was sick recently was having those things so close to bedtime.

Debating just buying some gluten free bits and seeing how he gets on but as he's been fine since last Tuesday and it was months between the two incidences I'm not sure how I would know if it was making a difference?

Obviously I will take him to the doctors to discuss it with them when I can but does anyone have any ideas as to whether they would trial the gluten free diet in the meantime or ant other ideas as to what could be causing this?!
