Dd 11mos has had this spotty rash on her cheeks for months, since she was about 3/4 mos old and it’s never gone away, it’s now spread to her forehead, I’ve been to the gp with her (about other things) and mentioned it but they just say it’s nothing it’ll go away, but they don’t tell me what it is and I just want to know if there’s anything I can do to help get rid of it.

It’s not itchy or painful, sometimes it gets a bit red but that’s about it. Any ideas about what it could be or causes?

Oh thankyou! Smile I’m really hoping it’s just baby acne that she’ll grow out of. Fingers crossed!

I know it seems the cure for everything these days but we cut out dairy and ours went

Notsooriginalwerther · 02/05/2018 09:51

shewolfmum that’s one of my biggest concerns with this rash, it does worry me it’s dairy related. When you cut out the dairy what did you give them instead because I can’t think of anything she will actually eat that doesn’t have dairy in it Shock the fact hat it’s spread to her forehead makes me think it’s got to be linked to something :/

Looks like baby acne to me also, I would have said dribble rash /teething but not if its spread to her forehead! Visit pharmacist and ask for a suggestion on a cream to try. Baby is absolutely adorable btw!

Notsooriginalwerther · 02/05/2018 11:12

Thank you Nogosnomasters Smile that’s actually a great shout, I hadn’t thought of talking to a pharmacist initially! That’s the plan for tomorrow then and hopefully they’ll be able to give me something that can help!

I don't have any advice but came here hoping there'd be a cute picture and I wasn't disappointed, how gorgeous!

Cupcakey · 02/05/2018 13:40

No advice! but awwwwww gorgeous baby x

celticmissey · 02/05/2018 13:42

My daughter had this same looking rash as a toddler. We changed her to lacto free milk and it improved greatly - could be dairy related.

shewolfmum · 02/05/2018 14:35

Oh don't worry...how old is she? Loads of suggestions to help you with. Try for 6 weeks. Check out super nutrition for babies or jude belerau has a good book too...

FuckingHateRain · 02/05/2018 15:52

We cut down dairy too and any related rashes were gone
Really cute!!!!!

Notsooriginalwerther · 02/05/2018 18:25

shewolfmum shes 11months and had no teeth yet. Hah! Any advice on what to give her and how to replace things, she loves yogurts and loves cheese pasta but I’m guessing those things would be causing the problem. The thing is, what worries me is if this is how her bodies reacting to dairy on a visible scale just on her face, what’s it doing inside. Tbh she is a verrrryyyy gassy baby and after the days up she usually has a very bloated tum :/

shewolfmum · 02/05/2018 23:21

Avocado...sweet potato...egg yolks...brocolli...defo check out those books or maybe they have supernutrition for babies fb group not sure?

Notsooriginalwerther · 02/05/2018 23:58

Those are brilliant suggestions and definately foods she could handle :) I think she’s a little delayed in regards to weaning and still struggles with chunks, being all gum probably doesn’t help! But thank you soooo much!! I’m going to give her a few weeks off of dairy (or at least reduced significantly to her one ff) and see how she fares. Again thank you, I was at a lost cause thinking she’d have to live off of fruit purée Blush

Eeek the thing is it cam be a protein in dairy and so even a tiny weeny bit we found wasn't good...and soya is a no no...but glad those help. It is advised to avoid grains for a while when they first ween...rude health or plenish donsone good nut milks or you can make them easily. One fave was avocado..coconut oil...cocoa powder and banana whizzed up to make a chocolate pudding! Would look great all over her beautiful face...it is very messy!! We did find that our kid could tolerate sheep dairy (yoghurt and milk and cheese) so after 6 weeks it may be an idea to reintroduce a bit of sheep to see if ok first..
