Colic and Constipation - 3 week old baby

My 3 week old baby boy has colic and constipation, I've been to the GP with him today and they've confirmed this and given me some lactulose or something to try him on. He's in so much pain and he cries all the time and I can't seem to settle him at all. It breaks my heart. I just wanted to know what you guys suggest to help? As I'm a new mum and have absolutely no idea!! Thanks!

What milk are they taking?

He's having Cow & Gate First Infant Milk, but I'm thinking of switching to either the Colic and Constipation version or just completely switching brand 🤔

Try colief that goes in the milk it’s not cheap but worth it. And anti colic bottles also help.

Also a bit if brown sugar and cooled boiled water can help newborns pooh if their getting really uncomfortable. Only like 1/2 n ounce usually does the trick x

I had this with my DS...he had a minor anorectal malformation that wasn't picked up til 9 months and ended up needing loads of surgery, including a stoma bag for a year. Most of which could have been prevented if doctors had listened to me to begin with.

Are his pops coming out hard???

I've been using a product called nutrigen inulin. It's not a laxative like but it contains prebiotics which will help to keep his bowel movement going
