Rash

My 8 month old has developed a rash... it’s gone from the side of her face to the chin tonight so I’m really concerned- and taking the picture it looks like it’s on her lip. Any ideas? Nobody has kissed her with a cold sore, we also don’t have pets (I was thinking ringworm... but we were around people with pets a week ago) what should I do?

Just to add, she had a very high temp last thursday but was checked over (in her mouth also) and they said it was viral.

We believe she’s teething as she’s dribbling a lot + has a dummy for sleeping , she often sleeps face down on the dummy at the moment because her teeth hurt.. could it be from this with a bit of dribble rash?

Is it dry, hard and raised? How long has it been there? Is she dribbling a lot?

It's really difficult to tell, but I thought it looked like dribble rash or a touch of eczema. But the round shape on the chin would be unusual for those, except that you say her dummy might have been there.

Is she ok in herself otherwise?

Slightly raised, the one to the side of her mouth is very red and looks sore. She’s been ok in herself although we think she’s teething as she’s been putting her thumb in and pushing the top gums. The chin rash has only developed tonight and she hasn’t really slept on her dummy since last night, but she is dribbling a bit. Above her lip doesn’t look as bad as the photo- it surprised me how red it looks to be honest and I was worried it could be a cold sore? I just don’t know :(

The one to the side came up a day ago and the chin tonight. My husband thinks her lips been red for a little bit but it could be from the sleeping face down on the dummy?

It looks like eczema to me, but as I say, it's really difficult to tell from a photo. I think you should pop into the GP tomorrow as we can't tell you on the internet, but I would moisurise tonight.

It looks very like my most ezcema-y kid. He gets it on his lip and under his chin like that.

Thanks for your reply, she’s had a tiny bit behind her ears and gets little sores in her creases which go with eczema cream so it could be, just weird it hasn’t come out on her face before. I think I’ll try the pharmacy as I seem to be taking her to the GP all the time, they will be getting fed up with me

It’s spread overnight, the pharmacist thinks it might be slapped cheek syndrome. :(
