3 and a half year old undescended testicle

Good evening.. firstly apologise for the beautiful subject of LBs testicles at this time in the evening.

By son was diagnosed with an undescended testicle in January. And our go also confirmed our previous go never confirmed any details on his testicles on his 6 week baby check.

He is now 3 and a half and we have been explained the risks of anything turning malignant at his age and in the future. As a parent the alarm bells are going off.

We know the information about what surgery and the process... I am just so worried because the hospital has told us the waiting list for the scan is until the end of September and the operation would be 6 months following...

I've looked inline and all I can see is they prefer the operation to be done before the age of two due to the risks that are imposed and how it can effect later life..

I'm so worried because he is my little baby and we would be looking at him being nearly 5 by the time the hospital think it will be done.

Has anyone got any other information on this situation and advise if they had to wait this long .. I know with new horns they like to wait a couple of months but my sons wait totals to 12 months before it's corrected so I'm so worried

Thank you everyone

It may not be exactly the same but my son had one testicle that used to come and go more than it should. It generally wasn't there but it could be moved down manually. He was monitored annually from a baby and as he grew older the less frequently it would be where it should have been. I was concerned about his age but the surgeon was keen to monitor as felt it may descend as he lost his baby fat. He was then put on to a two year follow up but at that point they decided to operate. He was five and a half when he had his surgery. He didn't need a scan so perhaps I slightly different situation.

I'd maybe speak to them again about you worries

Hi thank you .. we've now had to go through the complaints procedure to talk to anyone about it... our gp isn't able to give any further information really and can't do anything to help (he has tried his best but the hospital have that much of a backlog and the consultants are only there 1 day out of 7 weeks "due to an increase of private patients"). And I can't speak to the consultant only the secretary who's only advice was a different hospital, however the one he's referred to is the only place round here that can do the right side.
My LBs has never come down so they need to scan him to locate in the abdomen
