Toddler nosebleeds

My 2 year old has had a cold for the last week and had one or two nosebleeds a day with it. They are not hugely bad ones and stop quite quickly but I’m starting to get a bit concerned. Are nosebleeds common with a cold?

I don't think they are a common symptom of a cold, I'm assuming at age 2 this isn't your dc's first ever cold and no nosebleeds with prior colds? The only think I can think of is if dc is picking their nose and has long enough fingernails to be scratching the skin n causing a bleed? I know I've scratched my nose inside wearing gel nails and caused a small bleed once. If you can't see any physical thing before the bleed like I say him picking then I'd maybe ask a pharmacist about it and see what they suggest.

Thank you. I’m probably going to make him a routine appointment just to get checked out.

Although a pharmacist might be a good call first. I could pop to them today.

Most nosebleeds are totally harmless. My sil when she was a child had a very sensitive nose and the smallest of touches would have her bleeding, she grew out of this by end of primary school and is fine now as an adult with no issues.

My 3 year old is rather prone to nosebleeds when they have a cold. Thankfully they tend to be short lived as well and disappear once the cold has cleared up.

My ds almost always gets a nosebleed or two when he has a cold. Guess he's just got a sensitive nose.
