does she have constipation or leak poo between visits to the loo (which can be a sign of constipation)? does she report that it hurts to poo?

if so, look up 'anal fissure' - fairly common & not very easy to deal with but not life threatening.

Mummytron · 04/04/2018 21:59

She says her poo is hard to get out and she has had a few episodes of a bit of poo in her knickers

It sounds like she might be constipated and straining to poo is causing small tears Hense the blood? Def worth a trip to the gp but I'd say unlikely to be anything scary if it's being going on for a few years and she other wise well.

Thanks both

3 years?

What has the GP said?

Mummytron · 04/04/2018 23:48

Constipation. Happened about a dozen times over the 3 years

Right so you know what's causing it. Presumably the GP has treated your DD for this, what's your worry today?

MilkyCoffeeAndSkinnySyrup · 05/04/2018 00:24

Sounds like anal fissure

Hercules12 · 05/04/2018 08:18

I would go back to gp and ask for referel to gasterenologist.

EmaLu · 05/04/2018 09:06

You can always get it checked out for piece of mind but my DS had this and of course I jumped to the worst conclusion but I was reassured that fresh red blood is not a concern especially if he is well in general most likely from an anal fissure especially as constipation is an issue where dark blood can mean it is from further up and something more serious may be going on but still not neccassarily anything sinister. We increased DS fibre intake and it is now very rare we see blood.

EmaLu · 05/04/2018 09:12

Also my DS didn’t really complain of pain or constipation he did however do some huge poos 💩

parietal · 05/04/2018 19:31

if it is causing her pain, make sure the gp gives you a laxative and/or a hospital referral. I had to fight for a referral for my dd and the constipation kept getting worse while we waited.

Mummytron · 05/04/2018 22:41

I didn't mean to mislead anyone. I know she has had it blamed on constipation in the past but my worry was that maybe they are missing something and down anyone else have experience with it?
No pain with it although she gets tummy ache a fair bit. She does huge poos too.
Thanks for all the advice.
