Chicken pox

On Saturday DD started coming down with chicken pox. No worries, she had a mild case of it last year and I kind of knew what to expect.

She's getting worse rather than better with more and more spots still coming out including right on her lash line, in the ears and now in her mouth. Her temperature is hovering around 39 and she's been sick overnight for the last 2 nights. Appetite is non existent but she is drinking milk and cold water so not too bothered about that.

We've kept on top of calpol and have been giving piraton to help the itching but at what point would you take her to the GP if at all?

I wouldn't take a child with chicken pox to the gp

Treat at home

That's what I was thinking too but everyone had been saying they normally start getting better after the first few days not worse...

If you are worried call your GP and they will advise you. I wouldn't just take her in.
When my DDs had chick pox they were 8, 2 years and 6 months old. Dd (8) suffered really bad, one morning she went to have a wash and went blind. I called a and e and they said to bring her in but to call when outside so we could go into an isolated room.
Luckily her sight had come back. Her blood pressure was dropping low and that was what was causing her sight to go.

Anyway, the advice I was given was if ever you are worried about c.pox or something highly contagious, always call before going in. They will then advise you or prepare for your arrival.

Hope your DD starts to improve

When my lb had chicken pox aged 2 & 1/2 the spots started on a Tuesday thick and fast, fever didn't start until the Thursday evening and lasted for 3 days, think the last crop of new spots came out on the Saturday 5 days after the first crop. We took him to out of hours doctors (after calling first) on the Friday night because one pox appeared infected, the doctor checked it and it wasn't but he did agree it was a very bad pox. My son also had them in lash line, ears, scalp everywhere!
