Any ideas what this could be? I've shown it to the GP today and she also doesn't really know what it is but she asked me to keep taking pics until his next appointment to see if it gets any worse

ringworm?

FairiesVsPixies · 03/04/2018 19:46

Looks like ringworm to me too

ElderflowerWaterIsDelish · 03/04/2018 19:48

Have you had your feet near anything hot...when I'm next to a heater for too long it makes my skin come out in strange markings...

Also could it be a circulation problem?

And like a previous poster said....ring worm?

Do you have more than one go at your surgery?...if so, make another appointment and see a different dr, if that first dr doesn't know what is causing it, maybe another dr will

PerfectlyDone · 03/04/2018 19:49

Urticaria?
Ringworm?
Erythema multiforme?

The photo is not enough information.
Itchy/not itchy? Sore?not sore? There all the time or comes and goes? Different places or always stays in the same place? How are you otherwise? Well/unwell? Fever/no fever??

ChristineC320 · 03/04/2018 19:51

It doesn't itch him, he doesn't even seem to notice it's there, it disappears when it's pressed, what causes ring worms? We don't have any pets and he hasn't been barefoot outside...

So, is it a child's foot?
What age group? And he's well otherwise, yes?

Ringworm is a fungal infection, common on feet, mild itch, responds well to anti fungal cream.

ChristineC320 · 03/04/2018 19:59

He's 5, hes been catching viral infections from reception and has a high platelet level still monitoring it, he says it doesn't itch and doesn't hurt so no idea what it could be, it does seem to get more noticeable after a bath.

Every single skin thing that children (or anybody!) get is worse after a bath Grin - the warm water helps make skin blood vessels dilate and any rash looks redder. So don't worry about that.

You won't do any harm by getting a pharmacist to recommend an anti fungal cream and try that for a few days.

IwillrunIwillfly · 03/04/2018 20:03

Is guess ringworm as well. Its not actual worms, just a fungal infection that clears up with a cream you can get from the chemist.

MrsSchadenfreude · 03/04/2018 20:03

It’s ringworm

ChristineC320 · 03/04/2018 20:06

I'll take him to the chemist first thing and ask about it! Thanks for the opinions

bonnyshide · 03/04/2018 20:07

Yes, looks just like ringworm. A chemist will give you an anti fungal ointment that'll clear it right up.

Icecreambythesea · 03/04/2018 22:24

It probably is ringworm but if it spreads to other parts then it could be Pityriasis rosea which looks very similar.

woosey35 · 04/04/2018 08:54

Ringworm. Classic

PlonkyPlink · 04/04/2018 09:02

GP here. It depends on the history. If they all came up quickly (over days), I’d say erythema multiforme. If they are slow growing (over weeks), it could be ringworm but it would be unusual (but not impossible) to have so many at the same time.

PlonkyPlink · 04/04/2018 09:03

It’s not classic for pityriasis.

Luckymummy22 · 04/04/2018 11:35

Google granuloma annulare.

I’ve suffered this a few times and GPs kept giving me cream and treating it as ring worm even though they weren’t convinced.
It was only when I got referred to dermatologist that he diagnosed it. He actually prescribed a steroid cream but basically there is nothing that can really be done if it is that. But it did eventually go away.
I’ve not actually had a flare up now for a few years.

I know this is a very old post, but did you find out what this was? My son keeps getting the same sort of thing on the bottom/sides of his feet especially after a bath!
