Raised LDH levels

Just wondering if anyone has experience of their child having raised LDH levels (Lactate Dehydrogenase). My 15 month old has a three swollen occipital lymph nodes that do not disappear even when he is well. Doctor sent him for blood test which revealed LDH levels of 616 which is raised. Apparently specialist isn't concerned but we have an appointment booked to see a paediatrician in a month. Also due to have another blood test before that to see what the LDH levels are doing.
Has anybody had any experience of this? Good or bad outcome? I just can't stop thinking about it, can't help worry it's the worst. Tia xx

Hi

I was wondering whether you had an outcome for this? Hopefully you are still on here to answer. Our 4 year old has swollen lymph nodes in neck and slightly elevated LDH, the GP didn't seem worried and we see a paediatrician next week but Ive been silly and Googled and now I'm worried xx

Hi
Can I just ask what happened with this as my little girl is going through the same thing?

We had a second blood test and I think the LDH went down slightly, it was still a bit above normal though I think. We also had an ultrasound done on the nodes. After that the doctors seemed happy that there wasn’t anything to worry about.
My son ended up having the raised nodes for ages.(I mean years) I would check them every so often just to make sure they weren’t getting bigger and they never did. He is now 6 and I checked this morning and it seems like they are finally gone.
Hope that helps, I was assuming the worst but I think raised nodes are actually fairly common in children.

Ah thank you very much for this! The doctors have basically said if her full blood count is normal to discharge so I assume there not worried. She's fine in herself and meeting all milestones gaining weight etc she's small but always has been.

That’s okay, I made myself ill worrying about it so I know how you feel. My son was small too, but always had loads of energy and a healthy appetite. Follow your instinct and if you think she needs more tests don’t be afraid to ask. But if she’s well in herself then I would try not to worry, just keep an eye on the nodes in case they change.
