What's this rash/spots?

DD 6 woke up with these spots on her back. They're really itchy. She's got a couple more this evening too.
What do you think they are?
None of the other DC's have any.
Tried to get a close up.
Thank you for any help x

They look like hives to me particularly the one on the left. I suffer from chronic hives so I'm familiar with seeing them. Has she been in contact with anything out of the ordinary either physically or diet wise in the last 24 hours? And I'm assuming she has no other illness symptoms such as fever, runny nose etc?

Thank you. :)

She's eating and drinking fine. Had headache & a bit of tummy ache this week; diarrhoea on Monday.
They're intensely itchy & really bothering her :(

sorry but whenever i see a rash i think scabies or bedbugs. My own unfortunate experiences speaking ...

DullAndOld · 24/03/2018 22:23

Do you see the way they go in a line? that is typical of scabies.

tinkerbellone · 24/03/2018 22:34

I thought they might be bites... never seen scabies rash before... I thought maybe cold sore patch on her skin.
Hope it's gone tomorrow 😖

it probably wont be gone tomorrow though, as the bites go in a line and are intensely itchy, you should google scabies. Sorry.
I thought my spots might disappear, but they just got worse and worse, until the mites went into their next cycle.
Sorry to be a scaremonger..

tinkerbellone · 24/03/2018 22:40

I googled scabies. Now feeling horrified. Shock
What about shingles Confused

i don't know - has she had chicken pox?

you must take her to a doctor if they haven't gone soon.

tinkerbellone · 24/03/2018 23:21

She had chicken pox at 9 months x

Definitely don't look like chicken pox to me and as you say she's had them already (though of course it is possible to have them twice if she had a mild dose), I've never seen scabies before so I have no idea on that front. I'd probably take her to the docs if they don't disappear by tomorrow. For the itching you can get a gel called virasoothe from boots/chemist it's really helpful for my hives and I used it with my lb when he had chicken pox. Or you could try a children's antihistamine xx

tinkerbellone · 25/03/2018 09:13

Thank you I will try virasooth. Smile

Much more likely to be plain old flea bites. They also tend to go in a line where the flea jumps. They get bigger when itched, like that one on the left. Do you have any pets, or has she petted a cat recently?

They will sort themselves out, anthisan is good to take the itch away.

Unicornsandrainbows3 · 26/03/2018 11:11

Definitely not hives as they are big raised blotches. Those look like bites to me.
