Norovirus 7 year old daughter

My daughter seems to have the norovirus. Started with vomiting an diarrhea on Monday, yesterday only loose stools, stayed on the sofa all day, a bit of temperature; today some vomiting again, has not got up of the sofa, complaining, still diarrhea. I was hoping it was going to be a 24 or 48 hours virus but it seems worse and I feel very sorry for her.

What should I give her apart from the paracetamol?

She has requested juice, orange juice, strawberries. Dont have any of that atm. I can't even go to the shops and the frige is getting empty. Thought she was getting better yesterday but not today. She has natural orange juice yesterday and she was a bit better. ran out of oranges now.

Honestly? Sipping water is the best thing for her until she stops vomiting. Keeping her hydrated is the main thing.

Is she asking for food?

When DD had it it took awhile and she wanted blackcurrant squash and strawberries as well!

It was Ribena here last time DS2 had the dreaded noro.

Is there no one who could pop to the shop for you OP?

Thank you.

She has asked for juice, orange juice, strawberries and raspberries, also tea and water.

I have asked DH to come homer earlie so I can go to the shop. I understimated it and thought she would be better by now. Dont have family here and neighbours are all busy or working. I have thought about going to the shop and leaving her here but don't want to risk it. Will do it if my oldest one were home but not a 7 sick year old on her own. I have other things just not the things she is asking for apart from the water an tea. Maube I can make her apple juice, I have fresh apples

I wouldn't give her too much fresh fruit - I would worry about it giving her worse cramps and heartburn.

You are absolutely right to stay with her. Stick with tea and water, it's honestly all she needs at the moment anyway.

As long as she's hydrated there is nothing to worry about. It's just really bloody unpleasant, especially when it lingers on like this.

Poor wee sausage. I hope she starts feeling better soon.

Thank you. Will stick to tea and water even though she keeps asking for fruit and juice.

Send your dh to the shop on the way home.
