Diarrhoea for 8 days

My 5 year old DD occasionally suffers from loose bowels- she's had a couple of incidents where I've kept her off school for 48 hours since she started Reception in September. Sometimes it's only one episode but I always err on the side of caution as I know how these things spread - I'm a teacher myself!
She had a really bad episode of diarrhoea last Thursday night - soiled herself in her sleep and then screaming in pain on the toilet. I've never seen her like that before and I was in tears. Her school was closed the next day anyway so she stayed home with DH and was absolutely fine.

Since then I haven't noticed anything wrong, although DH noticed one evening that her knickers were dirty so she'd obviously had a bowel movement at school and not wiped properly. She didn't complain of bad poos and when I asked she said they were ok - not completely back to normal but not bad and no stomach pains. She said she was going once a day but not every day.

Last night at bedtime she had a huge poo explosion - on the loo, thank goodness - and was there for about 45 mins. She was finding it hilarious so wasn't in any pain. She was up again at 4am - this time with stomach cramps and had another huge explosion and was on the loo for half an hour. She got up at 8am and had another episode, although not as explosive. She was trying to convince us it was normal because she wanted to go to her dance class...

I know tummy bugs can come and go - my 1year old is still suffering a lactose intolerance from a nasty one back in October - but I'm wondering if anyone has any experience of this in older children? I'll be keeping an eye on her hydration and cutting out dairy for now and calling the GP on Monday if it continues, but I'm so confused about the sporadic pains and lack of any other symptoms?

Hi you need to take her to the doctor ASAP she’s too young to be having this and as she’s so little she will get dehydrated and lack nutrients.

Tbh she sound like she’s either allergic or intolerant but she does need to see a doctor Monday.

I have chronic ibs d developed aged 25 and had it 23 years it’s exhausting and she will eventually develop anxiety about this as accidents it’s haooened to me where I can’t even travel or go anywhere without a toilet being near.

Please see a doctor ASAP so it can be looked into.

My youngest aged 6 , 7 years ago has blisters when drinking orange squash the doctor referred her to hospital for allergy tests she had 20 slight pin pricks to the arm and each allergen put in each prick and she had an allergy but it got better as she aged.

Never leave things like this for many reasons xx
