Hi,
Over the last couple of days we’ve noticed this in the corner of my sons mouth. Does anyone have any ideas what it could be?
TIA

Wart?

KatherinaMinola · 06/03/2018 13:27

Cold sore?

Angular cheilitis (sometimes from iron deficiency or other deficiencies).

See GP if it doesn't clear up.

Looks like Angular Chelitis...which if you google it, often appears as simple cracks in the corner of the mouth but can be raised like your son's.

It's made worse by licking the area. See the GP for some cream OP. And to make sure that's what it is.

Could it be impetigo ??

Minimonkeysmum · 06/03/2018 13:31

I get something similar in cold weather - think it's called angular cheilitis. Clears up with some blistex, but can be quite sore. It's essentially dry cracked skin.

It does look v similar to cold sores though, (which I don't get, but understand they tingle).

Wow thanks for your responses!
Well I did initially think it could be a cold sore however not my husband or I suffer from them and I recently read (because I shared a drink with a friend who had a cold sore🙈) that they are not usually spread through sharing drinks so I’m not sure how he would of got one??
I’m having a look at the other suggestions. I’ll soon know if it’s impetigo spreads like wildfire 😅
Thanks again to all above 👍🏻

Hand foot and mouth ?

HeyRoly · 07/03/2018 21:44

Most probably angular chelitis due to the location. I get it from time to time, only ever in winter, and it's really sore. Only time seems to get rid of them.
