Son's toes

Odd one I know, but has/does anyone had a child with toes that cross over (pic attached) like my 7 year olds?

He had really curly toes as a baby, but the other foot seems to have straightened itself out, but this one hasn't.

It doesn't appear to cause him any pain/inconvenience, but a bit worried that it could do in the future.

Would you see a Dr or just wait a few more years to see if they straighten out themselves?

I have a toe like that. The Dr's apparently told my mum the only way to straighten it was to break it so she decided against it. It doesn't cause me any problems at all.

Mine did! He is 12 and it has only started to straighten out this year. We were advised to have his toes broken to reset them (he has it on both feet) but we decided to wait and see, doesn't cause him any issues and he plays academy level football!

Thanks for replying..yes I thought would probably be the only solution too..not appealing!

is he comfortable?
I might want to check that his footwear is the right size/width.

Thanks polly. Good to know. I think we'll wait a bit too and see if it straightens out.

It doesn't seem to bother him at all either!

I'll take a photo when he comes home later to show you what they look like!

haha..I can just imagine his face 'come here son, I want to make a picture of your feet to pop on MN'! Grin..thanks, that'd be great.

browne yes I think so. He has just gone up a size in shoes and I have had his feet measured so guess that's all ok.

It’s the middle one which would worry me most if that’s how they sit naturally.

My sons toes crossed so when he was 6 he had the tendons released in two of them as they were at a point they were starting to make shoes a problem. They are starting to cross again in which case it will have to be he breaking/pinning route
