Milk intolerance or just a rash?

My 6 week old has had this rash for about 2 weeks now. He has also had a blocked nose that I have to unblock twice a day (not constantly running just stuffy) since about a week old. He feeds well majority of the time and is only fussy occasionally, he sleeps well and generally seems pretty content. Is this a good sign?

I've been to the pharmacist who have prescribed cream and bath oil for him but I'm worrying myself that he's milk/lactose intolerant. My GP will not see him as the responsibility falls to the health visitor. I just don't trust the health visitor and she has messed up numerous times and I feel she will go straight to taking him onto different formula without even really looking at it.

Not sure if relevant but he was breastfed for 2 weeks then switched to Apitmel.

Hoping there are others with similar experiences or rashes that just turned out to be eczema!

@Liverpoolmumof1 no not really instead of trying to help me get down to the bottom of the symptoms he just straight away gave him lactulose. Going to see a different doctor tomorrow and ask if my dd can be put on prescribed milk. I know lots of people that's children have had the same symptoms and been prescribed it.

Can I say @Liverpoolmumof1 your advice has been a help and any one who has had an opinion on you offering help is just ignorant and snotty!! This is what this site is for and if they don't like the fact we all ask questions and offer each other advice so thankyou again xx

At least if you’ve been given the lactulose you can go back and say you’ve tried but LO still has X,Y and Z and has had for some time. To be honest, I would insist on seeing a paediatrician because most GPs don’t understand a lot about it.

Ah that’s no problem. Thank you for saying so. 😀. If you’re on Facebook join the forum for parents with kids with CMPA/I. There’s loads of useful suggestions to be had there and people are mostly nice. You can compare notes with lots of people and see what you think. Xx

Great. I’m so pleased you’re getting somewhere.
