My toddler tolled of 1 metre high bench onto tiled floors (very hard). She cried but ended up on her back. Picked her up crying and she hugged me. I checked for breakages blood she seemed fine. She was holding iphone which did not break either, miracle? Her father hasn’t noticed anything different, but I think she is a little more Wobblies than usual at day 3. Will it pass?

I don't know, but I think you need to take them to the doctor.

furryelephant · 24/01/2018 20:31

I would probably have taken her to be seen straight away after a fall from 1m onto tiles and I’m not one to go rushing to see a doctor, but falling onto your back can cause the head to jolt and cause quite a whack.

LittleMe03 · 24/01/2018 20:31

It's a difficult one because I've gone to a+e with similar and after a long wait quick check and keep an eye on child etc and sent home

LittleMe03 · 24/01/2018 20:32

How is she otherwise? And how was she the day after it happened? Crying for no apparently reason etc. If you're concerned on day 3 I would get it checked

Janejack · 24/01/2018 20:42

She is normally otherwise just more wobbly than usual. There was a bump on head but gone down. I have cupped her head and she’s not in pain.

Maybe just have it checked for peace of mind x

Janejack · 24/01/2018 21:02

Thank you just complicated as father will never forgive me if something wrong

If she is more wobbly than normal that indicates a problem. Take your child to be seen.

It's not complicated. You put your child first. Every time.

If he has a problem with your child having an accident, that's his problem. Your priority is your child, not him.

Jaxtellerswife · 24/01/2018 21:05

It's not complicated at all. Not to be mean but if your child has had a bad fall and isn't normal after three days they need to be seen. Forgiveness shouldn't be a concern at this point.
I hope all is well

martellandginger · 24/01/2018 21:06

If child is a climber teach them to climb down from things. But 1 metre is quite high made worse by the fact that they were holding something so didn’t use hands to break fall.

crocodarl · 24/01/2018 21:11

My 1st one did stuff like this a lot at this age. What I learned was, if they fall less than their own height (or slightly more but the landing surface is soft, eg carpet or grass) it's probably fine. If not, get them checked straight away - don't wait a few hours to see how they go.

And it's usually fine - kids are very tough. But if you're even a little bit uncertain, get them checked straight away. Don't be afraid to look like an over-protective mother, you won't be the first.

halfwitpicker · 24/01/2018 21:12

Wobblies?

What does that actually mean?

LittleMe03 · 24/01/2018 21:17

Op what do you mean?

Janejack · 24/01/2018 21:21

Just wobbly shaky jolts I mean she’s only been walking one month so not smooth walking before anyway as new to walking.

You need to get her checked then - I don’t understand why you haven’t when this happened three days ago.
