Toddler bloated tummy pain at night only

Anyone had any experience with these symptoms? My 21mo son was always a colicky baby which I managed with a 3hr scheduled breastfeed, a good winding and a dummy. ( I fed extra him if he demanded). Since starting solids he has woken frequently in the night with bloated tummy and pained cries which are solved by massaging his tummy until he passes wind. But he wakes frequently in the night with this. He is fine in the daytime and has a 1-2hr nap. Doctor suggested a food diary but we can't pinpoint a particular food. Peas and strawberries seem to make it worse amongst other things.
Doctor wasn't very interested because he is gaining weight, pooing fine and very active, hitting all the milestones. Gaviscon did nothing.
But, I'm exhausted and ill. I also have a 3.8yo who had similar and grew out of it about age 3. Do I just have to wait it out or can I get something prescribed? Should I push for a pediatric specialist of some sort?
Any advice gratefully received?

Milk? Or snacking late at night?

My DS has milk intolerances which made them bloat, then get diarrhoea. It may be that when he's awake, there is enough movement to keep things going. When he's lying still, it builds up.

Try changing the time of his meals, or cut out late night milk, if that is what he has.

He only has milk with meals last one is at 5-6pm then bedtime at 7/7.30.
No snacks or milk in the night only water.
He eats well and varied meals.

Does he have a dummy? Sucking really helps with gas.

Maybe try a low fibre diet for a few days, or is live yogurt allowed these days?
