Pale gums

Hi everyone!

I could do with some advise please. I have a 3 year old boy (who has autism and limited speech).

For a while I've noticed his gums above his teeth were a lighter shade of pink than the gums above that (if that makes sense?). He then started to complain about his teeth hurting, but noticed a molar pushing through so put it down to that. I've looked at his gums today and the section that was once pale pink is now white. He tells me his head has been hurting and his teeth have also been hurting.

Of course my first though it that he's anemic. His diet is very poor and not at all healthy (fussy eater). If not anemic than what else would you assume it is?

I've managed to get a gp appointment for tomorrow, but just wondering if I should ask about anything else or certain tests? He's going to be awful having a blood test Sad.
Anyone else had similar issues, and what was the outcome?

Thanks everyone.

I would just assume anaemia too, it can be common in small children. I don’t know anything personally about teeth and gums to know if there’s any other causes though! How did the gp appointment go?

Hi furry, thanks for replying and sorry for the delay! It was a waste of time to be honest. We had a doctor who doesn't usually work there, and he was very dismissive. Said he looked 'active', so couldn't be anemic.
My DS cannot have over the counter vitamins (long story), and the doctor even refused to prescribe the usual vitamins he has. We see his paediatrician in a couple of weeks, so il speak to her about it instead.
