Does the baby flu jab protect against Aussie flu?

I know there are several strains of flu about at the moment. Does the inactivated vaccine given to high risk youngsters under 2 by injection protect against Aussie flu or just the standard strains? TiA

I don't think the Aussie flu strain is any of the U.K. Jabs this year as the jab was developed before it mutated.

Thanks for your message - that’s not good news! We are currently in an Aussie flu hotspot area and I’m worried about my kids catching it.

Does the nasal spray contain the Aussie flu strain and/or the adult vaccine?

The Australian flu is a strain called H3N2 and the flu vaccine is designed to cover this strain and a few others.

I'm really not sure but my DH has had the flu for the last 10 days and it's a perfect list of the Aussie flu and I'm pretty certain my vaccination (38 wks pregnant) fought it off. I felt horrifically ill for one afternoon (around when his kicked off) and then it just disappeared. My 3 and 4 yr old are also vaccinated and neither have caught anything.

Just keep hands washed regularly, especially before eating anything and after being out in public and stay away from people coughing.
