Hi was looking for a little reassurance if anything. Firstly I have made an appointment for my son with gp for tomorrow. For a few months now we have noticed a little bit of bright red blood around my sons anus now and again not in his poo though (he does do some big poops) initially we were very alarmed but speaking to other parents they mentioned anal fissures and said bright red blood is usually nothing to worry about so thought we’d just keep an eye on it. Today when he had a poo there was no blood around his anus but I noticed he had what looked like bright red blood a bit orangey in his poo. Now I myself suffer with health anxiety and I’m trying very hard not to jump to the worst conclusion but I’m finding it very hard. And I’m worried that having not taken him to gp with the initial blood it’s now worse. He is of good health and eating as normal, no tummy pain or constipation. He and his big brother and my husband and I have all suffered from a cold/cough virus this last few weeks too. Any advice would be much appreciated especially from anyone with a similar experience. Thank you

Most likely a tear/fissure. My dd has had this and it was nothing to worry about. I would keep monitoring, it will improve if a fissure...make regular toilet routine after dinner to ensure he isn’t constipated
