Molludab - Molloscum Contagosium - Experiences?

Hi

I wondered if anyone else had used Molludab for MC in their children and would be able to let me know how it went. We have started using it for DD (8) and it has sped up the MC process so she has lots more now. The problematic ones are around her bottom and genital area. The GP suggested maybe stopping it as this would slow down the process. Obviously there are caveats to this in that the Molludab is stopping the big pus stage which caused DD much pain and also, if it is going to just take longer without Molludab, is it better to just get it done.

Did anyone stop it and if so, what happened after? I am happy to do either and think it really should be DD's decision as her body and she is 8 now. She has had it for 8 months now and it is a PITA.

Thanks

I used it for my ds when he had it under his armpits. I'd say it took a few weeks to work but we applied it religiously and they did go in the end. Came back about 6 months later and treated them immediately and they went within a few days so I think the quicker you can get it on to new ones the better.

Thanks for this. We are back using it and I think we do need to keep on with it despite DD not being keen. Glad this helped your DS.

I used it on both my kids (8 and 6 at the time) as I wasn’t prepared to leave it to spread. I spotted the lumps very early on so there weren’t many to treat and it certainly stopped them spreading any further, straight away. I had to use chocolate to bribe the kids to keep still when applying it! But it only stung for a few seconds then they were fine with it.

We followed the instructions religiously and stopped when the spots turned red. The spots eventually ‘burst’ (this took months for my daughter) which was a bit yucky and messy but not the end of the world. Both kids developed dermatitis around the spots as they came to a head, but it looked worse than it was. There’s been no sign of the little buggers returning ever since.

The main thing I would say is that this 100% worked for us with very little fuss, pain or bother. Complete success as far as I am concerned.

Thanks CountryPlumpkin, really glad it worked for both your DC.
