Gripe water and how it really works

Hi all.

I'm new here and had a question which I've found tough to get a clear answer on.

How does Gripe water work.

Loads of sites go on about what's in it and how it reduces acid but none say what I should expect after my son takes it.

Does the gripe water remove gas/wind build up in his stomach or does it simply make it much easier for him to burp?

Ie if it removes gas/wind build up should I continue to burp him as much?

Thanks

Paul

It has Dill Seed Oil in it, doesn't it? Which is a herbal remedy for wind/indigestion. It used to anyway, not sure if the recipe is still the same these days.

Sorry, forgot to say it causes the air bubbles in the stomach to come together into one big bubble instead, so it can be burped up and out.

It used to work by containing alcohol! (Still does in some parts of the world, so be careful on holiday).

It also contains dill, which is a traditional herbal remedy for digestive ills.
